Our Steps for A Successful Sale: Buyers are not just buying the vehicle, they are buying the seller too.

  • 1. Market Analysis

We begin with a market analysis to see what you can reasonably expect for your vintage truck or tractor. We pull public transaction data, utilize our proprietary market analysis, and tap our network to review private sales. We work with you to create a floor price and goal number. We also help you decide where this vehicle will be placed for sale and what type of sale is most advantageous (private, online auction, public auction, etc.).

  • 2. Mechanical Prep

Our team will tediously review the vehicle to asses and document its condition, with the goal of eliminating any surprises later in the sales process. We advise the owner on repairs, if any, that should be done ahead of placing the vehicle on the market with the primary goal of seeking maximum financial performance. If you need it, we can help locate and vet reputable service providers who have reputations for specializing in your vehicle or equipment.

  • 3. Cleaning and Detailing

All vehicles are thoroughly detailed by our team at your location before photographing and placement on the market. We will do paint correction, waxing, rejuvenation of plastics or rubbers, and much more to get it ready for its big day.

  • 4. Photography, Video, and Documentation

All vehicles are photographed and filmed hundreds of times to provide future buyers the clearest and most honest understanding of the vehicle's attributes. We also gather all pre-existing services records into a single, well-labeled binder, along with any manuals and accessories that came with the vehicle. Finally, we will write the content of your posting.

Thorough documentation goes a long way in accelerating financial performance and sales price.

  • 5. Advise and Counsel During Negotiation

We help post or place your vehicle on the market. We help you answer questions received from potential buyers. We serve as a sellers advocate and confidant in fielding questions from potential buyers and rooting out any scams or unqualified buyers. Finally, we provide advise and research during negotiations so you can attempt to reach your goal number.

  • 6. Deal Closing and Shipping

As the deal closes, we work with your to make sure everything is buttoned up and ready for delivery.

Our Fee

We assess a minimum flat fee of $500 per item, which can be negotiated if multiple vehicles intend to sell, such as the case with large collections or estate sales. This fee supports services listed above, including the full detail of the truck or tractor, written description for posting, photography and video, and well sorted binder with all its information in one spot.

We do not charge a commission fee for the percentage of the final sale, because we believe that our up front, presale work will help the vehicle sell faster and at a better price than it would otherwise and the sellers should reap the reward. Our job is to make sure the seller puts their best foot forward so they can inspire confidence in potential buyers.

Important Note: Sorted: Vintage Truck and Tractor is not a dealer nor engages in consignment contracts. We believe in empowering the seller through the sales process and provide consulting and advisement services to help them reach maximum financial performance. We do not take ownership or possession of the vehicle at any point and do not vouch for the vehicle’s condition. Vehicles are sold as is and do not carry any form of warranty, unless otherwise noted by the seller. All buyers should thoroughly research a vehicle before purchasing.
